Virtual Public Consultation

Land West of Hatherop Road, Fairford, Gloucestershire

Welcome to this Public Consultation website, for the proposed development of 98 new homes, open space, allotments, play area, attenuation pond, landscaping and associated infrastructure, on land West of Hatherop Road, Fairford.

The purpose of this consultation is to gather feedback on the design and layout of the proposed development from the local community.


Background

The proposed site covers approximately 7.7 ha of agricultural land located to the west of Hatherop Road, Fairford. The site benefits from outline planning permission which is subject to a reserved matters application.

Cala Homes now wish to bring forward the development and welcome your views before making the full application. All comments will be carefully considered during the design development and once the consultation period closes, we will present our findings from the community consultation in a Statement of Community Involvement which will then be submitted with the planning application.

The proposed development

The proposed development will consist of:

  • 98 homes including 39 affordable units with 70% of the dwellings being 1-3 beds
  • New play area
  • New community orchard
  • New community allotments
  • New kick about area
  • Central green square
  • Sustainable drainage pond
  • New attractive open space and landscaping provision
  • Resurfacing and lighting to public footpath Lovers Walk

The main access to the site will be from Hatherop Lane (located at the east of the site), with walking and cycling links to both Hatherop Road and Hatherop Lane. The new homes will be built using sustainable methods of construction and will include electric vehicle charging points and air source heat pumps. To support local biodiversity, various measures will be taken, including new native planting and the creation of new habitats for wildlife.

Cala Homes will be offering an excellent range of property types with a variety of facing materials as well as significant areas of new landscaping, which will ensure that the new development has a high-quality finish, complimenting the character of the area.

If you would like to provide your views and comments on the scheme, please complete and submit the consultation response form. All feedback is anonymous, and we do not request your details as part of this process.

Once the planning application is submitted, there will be a further opportunity to submit comments as part of the formal planning process.
